The Image Group team’s most recent achievement is both modern and intellectual. MODI, a clever coalescence of these two words, is a co-working company that features chic, technologically advanced offices for the Asian American business community. This forward-thinking enterprise in Irvine, California offers a 20,000 square foot building with a variety of workspaces, amenities, and benefits. MODI offers event spaces, cutting edge video conferencing facilities, and translation services that meet the needs of customers in America and Asia.
Our partner in this project, Placewright Design, synopsizes the idea of MODI on their website by stating: “[MODI] bridges the gaps in geography and time by offering an intelligent and modern, global-centric place to work, play, and connect. Services tailored with the Korean, Japanese, and Chinese business needs in mind, and a people-first approach.”
To sum it up, this progressive company states their brand promise with a simple but powerful mantra: Extraordinary is our standard.
When we at Image Group were first presented with MODI’s proposal, we jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team of creative and innovative agencies to transform MODI’s dreams and concepts into reality. We were able to successfully lend our expertise in the areas of design, construction, production, and project management to turn general ideas into superior signage.
“A prime example of our capacity to oversee and guide a project can be referenced to the world map display,” said Mariana McGrain, the General Manager at Image Group. “The team at MODI knew that they wanted to display a map of the world. They had a creative concept, but they weren’t sure how exactly to manifest their idea. We then were able to step in, guide collaboration, and lead the design process. What eventually materialized was completely beyond any of our initial thoughts, and it evolved into this.”
The ‘this’ that Mariana alluded to is a modernistic, monochromatic, three-dimensional floor-to-ceiling display cleverly composed of the brand mark created by the Placewright Design team. The wall is the first thing that catches the eyes of guests after checking in at the front desk. Upon first glance, it presents as a partition with tactile appeal. When stepping back, however, one can apprehend the complete depiction of the world on a contemporary sensory map.
In addition to the world map wall, we utilized our experience and prowess in the field of wayfinding to develop a seamless navigational plan for the building. Ultimately, we were able to manage the fabrication of both interior and exterior signage that impeccably fit both the functional and aesthetic requirements of the company.
“The wonderful thing about this project was that we both enjoyed the work and the process of working with the team at MODI and our partners,” Mariana explained. “From communicating with the general contractor to scheduling with the electricians, we worked side by side with everyone involved and were able to execute our plan expediently without ever compromising MODI’s original ideas or visions.”
This example of working closely with a project’s entire team to transform visions into reality is what sets Image Group apart from other signage firms. Image Group’s ultimate goal is to orchestrate and engineer our clients’ dreams. The question, “How can we make compromises to make the plan work?” is never asked. We say instead, “Let’s choreograph a plan to ensure that the original vision is executed to perfection.”
We owe a generous part of this successful collaboration to Placewright Design, Horizon Display, and the project’s principal executive creative director Daniela Mocan. By joining forces with these talented associates, we achieved a flourishing alliance that effectively delivered first-rate results.
